A new plan

We have moved! I am so excited about the new house. It is full of color, and it is small than our former house. Since this is a rental house, and I don't know how long we are going to live here, I am gonna attempt to decorate this house as inexpensively as I can, but beautifully. I am gonna take you on a journey of the evolution of this house.

The Master bedroom is my first project.

the bedroom is orange, and my vision is to make it feel cozy and romantic. We want to replace the furniture with dark brown/black furniture. I don't want to make the room feel too heavy so I want to add pops of teal blue, white and maybe yellow. this is my inspiration for the room.

Hopefully next time I will have pics of the room for you.
Let me know what you think!

Newness!

New. I like new. New shoes, new clothes, new babies (especially new babies), New paper, a new notebook is even better, a new pencil, the site of new pencils/pencil crayons, new recipes, new people, new friends, a new book, trying new things, ect. the list could go on and on. But just because something is new doesn't mean its new! Lol! I guess almost all things are like that. you go shopping at a thrift store and you find something that you like and it is new...to you! You can take something old and give it a new purpose and  it is new! you go to
Wal-mart and you try something on or you may buy it, it may be new but then again maybe its not (not knowing how many people have tried on that shirt, or even bought it but returned it).

A recipe is old thing, but if you are trying it out for the first time it is new. That is one thing I really like, trying new recipes. I have always loved doing it! This year I have found new recipes and am having fun trying them out. Today I am trying a new recipe for salsa! It is very different from the recipe I usually use, but it has turned out so well and is sooo yummy!

Come to think about it our relationship with the Lord is like that! It is not a new thing. It has been around for thousands of years, but to each person it is something new, and continues to be new. What I mean is as we walk closer to Him, and grow, each step is one we have never taken before, so therefore its new.
God's Mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). Sometimes my mind barely touches that truth and it blows me away!

these are just some of my thoughts, as I was cleaning up from my salsa making, and thought I would take a moment and share them with you all!

I would love to hear what you all think!

Blessings!

I am still here!

I haven't been around for a while, and I am sorry! Two months ago we went on a road trip out east all the way to PEI!!! The fulfillment of a life long dream. While we were at the beach out camera slipped into the waters and drowned! Wouldn't it be so romantic to drown? As Anne of Green Gables would say.
amazingly enough we were able to save all our pictures that were on a memo card!

We still don't have a camera, and I feel kind of handicapped having this blog and no camera. I know I love seeing pictures that people have taken themselves rather than pulling them from the internet, though they have some great pics on there.

Creative Juice is not limited to just interior decorating stuff, But I also planned on posting inspiring recipes I have tried and have found inspiring.

Let me direct you to my favorite web site for recipes.

I have discovered a recipe for Pasta Primavera Sauce and it was AMAZING!

Until then I guess you'll just have to check out these pictures of living room ideas I have.
I wan't going to really do anything to this place that we are renting right now, but we will be here for a while so I thought I would go a head and do it.
Mind you these are dream ideas!
right now we have these bulky dark red leather couches and 2 lazy boys.
I went looking around for ideas and came up with these pieces.

I couldn't have a whole room in black and white. My husband and I are people who love color and who need the feel of warmth in a room.
Here is an idea board for our one-day-master bedroom

Second Hand shopping!

I love shopping in second hand! I use to go just for the clothing and for the books, but since I have started reading different blogs on interior designing I have been inspired to see things in a different light.
So, I went shopping today and we stopped in at our local Salvation Army store, and I saw several things that caught my fancy.

There were three of them and I thought how cute these would be as vases or as milk/juice pitchers for the table. kind of like this.

cool huh.

I also found these pretty little pillows with a Victorian print on the front and the back was in navy blue with navy blue cord on the edges. so sweet!

I thought this coffee table would be really nice in like a white, black or an antique green

You can't see the designs very clearly but I thought this would be great painted white.

I was thinking paint this a different color or stain it and put different hardware on it.

I didn't buy any of it because I didn't know where I would put it, and I am limited on kitchen storage, the pillows wouldn't go with what we have right now and I feel limited on what I can really do to this house because we are renting. Oh well it was nice to look around. If I would buy stuff like this and redo some of the stuff would anyone buy it from me?

Well I had fun discovering all these treasures.
Hopefully I will be posting next about my love for all things black and white!

Finally!

Yes I am back! Sorry it has been so long. I have been kind of busy but yet not. sometimes I have no idea what to blog about since we live in a rented house. But We are looking into buying a house this year! I am not the kind of person who loves a brand new house, I love the older houses with character! My dream is to own an older house  and give it my own personal touch (a slight modern twist).

If any one out there can tell me about a good program to put design board together online please let me know. I am a newbie at this!
thanks bunches!

My first project!

We had a plight in our bathroom. We did not have a toilet paper holder, which of course means that that poor roll of toilet paper was subject to being placed on the floor or on the back of the tank. We wanted to buy one that we had seen in the USA somewhere (walmart, mijers, or target, I am not sure where) but when we had the money for it the next time we were there, it was gone. we looked almost everywhere for it but to no avail. So I came up with an inspiration. I was going to look for a little table, and then it could serve multiple uses! It could be used as a plant stand/toilet paper holder/magazine rack! So I started looking on kijiji, but couldn't find what I was looking for. It was after I subscribed to several blogs such as hypheninteriorsdesignspongeonline, or
Emily A. Clark just name a few, that I decided I would look for an old end table and finish it myself! a couple of weeks later while on our way to London, we came across this beside the road!
Before
It was love at first sight!

After

It needs one more coat of paint and then I would like to try sanding the edges to make it look antique, but we`ll see.
I was thinking about maybe starting a business by refinishing pieces like this one and then selling them. what do you all think, would you buy something like this?

Small/Awkward Spaces

Here is the promised post!
I am going to use my bathroom as an example. Here is my small space.

Many people may use it as a place to dump laundry.

Or if they are neater people they might store a laundry basket there.

Here are several ideas on how you could use a small space and make it pretty!

In my bathroom we have this palm, and I quite like it!

Tell me what you think. and if you have a small space you would like ideas on please feel free to ask me. I will  do my best. Just send me a picture with your questions.

Blessings! Karen E.

Finding the treasures!

I always envy those who have the gift for finding those rare treasures for really cheap. But this last weekend it was finally my turn! While driving into the city we came across a mom's sale. Even though we didn't really need anything we decided to stop in and look around. We came out with two pair of boots and my rare find!

Are they not the cutest number blocks you have ever seen? At first I just saw the wooden factor (I love wooden toys), and the fact that it would be educational, but when I put them together I fell in love with the art of it all!
My thoughts right away turned to decorating my daughters bedroom, and I thought, how perfect!

I would like to display them on a shelf like this or like this

Hopefully more on this in another post.

I hope you all had a very good weekend. I know I did!
We had a family gathering for lunch and in the evening we had a couple over that we had never gotten together with before, but it turned out great! I have a new kindred spirit when it comes to decorating thrift store shopping!

May you all have a productive week!
feel free to share with me your amazing treasures you have found that you are proud of!

Blessings!

Welcome to my New Blog!

Hi my name is Karen. I have started this blog in hopes to share with you some of my interests/hobbies.

Well, first I am in love with the  Lord Jesus Christ. He saved my soul 15 years ago now, and I am so grateful!
Next I am in Love with my Husband of 3 years, Jacob. We have a beautiful daughter Amelia and we are enjoying her toddler years!
I am very passionate about the home, and with that follows my interests in cooking and interior decorating! I one day dream of becoming a professional interior decorator. For now I will pretend I am a great blogger, a gourmet cook, and a professional interior decorator!

If you start following this blog at any time, please leave a comment to let me know. I hate the thought of blogging to no one and letting this all get lost in cyberspace!

Well, thats all for now.

Blessings!
